Sheenlac 3000 – Alkyd-based Red Oxide Primer

SHEENLAC 3000 is a fine quality, rust‐resistant single pack alkyd-based primer. It can be brushed directly or sprayed on ferrous surfaces to produce a high bonding film that ensures a smooth top coat.

AREA OF USAGE

SHEENLAC 3000 is ideal for both interior and exterior ferrous surfaces.

Shelf Life

24 months from the date of manufacturing. The mentioned shelf life is applicable only in original tightly closed containers stored away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Storage and Transportation

Coverage

Do not store or transport the containers in direct sunlight or at elevated temperatures. Store the container in an upright position to avoid any leakage or damage.

Applications

Overcoat Preparation

  • Use recommended thinners only
  • Do not over thin the paint more than the recommended levels

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure removal of all dirt, grease, and loosely bonded or flaking materials from the primed surface
  • Remove all traces of oil or grease with solvent wiping
  • Abrasive blast clean the surfaces complying with minimum Sa2½ (ISO 8501-1:2007) or SSPC-SP6
  • Make sure that the recommended surface profile is in the range of 35-50 microns
  • Prepare metal surfaces to the level of Sa2.5
  • Use power tool cleaning complying with SSPC –SP11in situations where it is not possible to do the blasting

Application Procedure

  • Apply a coat of SHEENLAC 3000 directly by brush/spray application method only
  • Allow it dry as per time interval mentioned above
  • Apply a second coat if required

Application Precautions

  • Do not apply this product over steel surfaces below due
  • Do not apply when the humidity is above 85%RH
  • Do not use the mixed paint after the pot-life period specified
  • Ensure proper surface preparation when exceeding overcoating interval or exposed to sunlight for a long time. This ensures proper inter-coat adhesion
