
NC Wood Lacquer – Colors
“Lacquer is a form of finish which is harder than Wood polish, and is used to give a clear or coloured shiny, glossy finish for furniture. Due to its high film clarity, NC lacquer combines well with the natural grain of the wood.
Nitrocellulose wood coatings are ideal for transparent topcoats and excellent pore-drawing, give the wood a special warmth and make it incomparably touch-friendly. Suitable for antique, artistic, or country furniture. ”
AREA OF USAGE
Reproduction of classic furniture styles, refurbishing older furniture, vintage musical instruments and interior general millwork. NC lacquers are not recommended for use in kitchens or bathrooms.

*Sand lightly between coats with 320 emery paper to denim. Dust off with dry cloth. This removes upstanding wood fiber ends and dust particles which could draw moisture in behind the film and shorten the life of the coating.

RECOMMENDED USE
ON BARE WOOD
First, allow the bare wood to dry. Make it free of dirt, grease, and other contaminants. Smoothen the surface of the bare wood with recommended sandpaper and then clean the sanding dust from the surface of the wood. Allow the bare wood to dry once again. Fill the wood grains with Sheenlac NC Putty if you do not want the grains to appear.
ON STEEL or IRON
Allow the iron or steel surface to dry first. Make the surface free of dirt, grease, and other contaminants. Sand or wipe with wire-brush to remove mill scales and rust. After that clean the sanded surface and allow it to dry.
ON PRE-PAINTED SURFACE
If the surface is already painted, scrape off any loose and flaking paint film from the surface. Sand and smoothen the defective areas. In the case of ferrous substrates, take care to remove the rust thoroughly. Make the surface free of dirt, grease, and other contaminants. The scraped areas should be spot-primed. Use a primer for metal and an undercoat for wood surfaces to complete the spot priming.
ON WOOD
First, apply one coat of NC Aluminium lacquer as a primer. Follow this by one or two coats of Sheenlac NC Primer surfacer as an undercoat. Finally, give two coats of Sheenlac NC Wood Lacquer – Color.
ON METAL
First, apply one coat of Sheenlac Red oxide / Zinc chrome metal primer. Follow this by one or two coats of Sheenlac NC Primer surfacer as an undercoat. Finally, give two coats of Sheenlac NC Wood Lacquer – Color.
