
Skinning or Gelling in Container
The paint develops a thin coat on the top or gels inside the container and this defect is called Skinning or Gelling.
Possible Causes |
Solutions |
Air-Drying Material is Exposed to air because it is partially full |
• Float the thinner on the surface of the paint and seal it tight. • Also you can put the content in a new can and seal it tight. |
Material has Gelled beyond a certain point | Discard the paint as it cannot be recovered. |
Storing the product at High Temperature outside or beyond the Shelf-life |
• Store the product inside, at room temperature. • If the product is polyester, Polyurethane or Pre-catalyzed Lacquer, use it before six months. |
